The Museum of Islamic Art in Bab El-Khalk welcomed on Thursday both Dr. " Irina Bokova ," UNESCO Director-General and Secretary- General of the Organization Lafrankovn . This was stated by Dr. Mamdouh Eldamaty minister of antiquities.
He pointed Eldamaty that the aim of the visit is to stand on the latest developments for the rehabilitation and development of the museum project in preparation for the opening, pointing out that " Bokova " keen to visit the museum during its presence in Egypt is a testament to the great international attention enjoyed by the project.
The minister added that, this visit is not the first for " Bokova ," where the museum saw the launch of the international campaign " are united with Heritage " in May 2015 and launched by UNESCO in cooperation with the Ministry of Antiquities in an indication that Egypt has not and will not give in to the terrorist attempts brute to undermine the heritage and civilization , after the museum presented by the terrorist incident that took place in front of Cairo security directorate in January 2014 destroyed.
For her part praised the " Bokova " fast completion of the development of the museum and the new halls that have been developed through the scenario of museum presentation , which she described as a project along the lines of international museums.
And Dr. Ahmed El-shoki supervisor of the Museum of Islamic Art added that he was preparing a special guide to children provider some cartoons will be distributed to visitors of the Children's Museum when it opens to see through the greatness of Islamic civilization and given to mankind.
